Consists of four autograph letters signed, dated 28 January to 12 December 1808, by Noah Linsly to Col. James Johnston largely discussing land speculation in Ohio. The first letter, dated 28 January from Georgetown, D.C., relates news from the capital including the lack of action taken on bill to grant Canadian refugees who supported the Revolution land in Ohio and that Madison will be the next president. The following three letters, dated 28 April, 4 June, and 12 December from Wheeling, Virginia, continue discussion regarding the Canadian refugee tracts and also discuss land speculations and financial matters.
